Terms & Conditions

By accessing Public Accountant (via www.publicaccountant.com.au) you agree to comply with the following terms and conditions.

The opinions expressed in Public Accountant are those of the authors, not Public Accountant, or the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA), unless otherwise stated. Public Accountant and the IPA accept no responsibility for the accuracy of information in articles and advertisements in Public Accountant on pubacct.org.au.

Articles submissions to Public Accountant by IPA members and external parties are welcome. Submission of an article does not guarantee publication. Articles may be edited before publication.

Articles are accepted for publication, in hard copy or on pubacct.org.au, only on the condition that the authors give the IPA an irrevocable non-exclusive license to publish the article, and authorise the Institute to give permission for reproduction of the article in whole or in part by other persons and organisations for educational and training purposes, as well as on the IPA website or pubacct.org.au.

All efforts are made to ensure that articles are correct at time of their original hard copy print run (indicated by an article’s magazine tag). Past editions are provided as published and for general information purposes only. Archived articles should not be relied upon as current information.

Blog

Blog articles found on pubacct.org.au will be used to explore current thought leadership, examine accounting issues, give insight into the Institute of Public Accountants and to be thought-provoking. Blog articles may and will be more controversial, and less cited, than the standard for articles found in Public Accountant or the other sections of pubacct.org.au. All effort will be taken to ensure information is factually correct, however, the purpose of the blog will be to express opinions, not provide technical or editorial level content.

Opinions expressed in the blog section of Public Accountant/pubacct.org.au, including those by IPA staff, are those of the authors, not the Institute of Public Accountants, unless otherwise stated. For official statements from the IPA, please visit our corporate site, www.publicaccountants.org.au.

Comments

Public Accountant believes in transparency in conversation and we will not remove comments or block people for differences in opinion or genuine complaint. However, we reserve the right to remove any comments that don’t adhere to the terms outlined below and to moderate or block anyone who is seen to be breaching them.

The following types of comments will not be tolerated and will be removed immediately:

  • violations of privacy or intellectual property rights
  • abusive, harassing, stalking, threatening or attacking others
  • defamatory, offensive, obscene, vulgar or depicting violence
  • language that is hateful, targets race/ethnicity, religion, gender, nationality or political beliefs
  • language that is fraudulent, deceptive, misleading or unlawful
  • trolling or deliberately disrupting discussion, spamming or link-baiting
  • violations of any intellectual property rights
  • commercial solicitation or solicitation of donations

Opinions expressed in the comments section of articles on Public Accountant, are those of the commenter, not those of the Institute of Public Accountants, or Public Accountant, unless otherwise stated. Use of or participation with the commenting function on pubacct.org.au indicates agreement with these terms of use.

Social Media

Follows, likes, re-tweets, links or other types of interaction with third-parties does not imply endorsement of that website, content, social media presence, service or person by the IPA. Similarly, the IPA does not necessarily endorse, support, sanction, encourage, verify or agree with the comments, opinions or statements posted by others to or from IPA social media channels.
