Prime Minister Scott Morrison has committed over $1 billion to new measures to help close the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians, headlined by a one-off payment of $82,000 for surviving members of the ‘Stolen Generation’.
Under the Closing the Gap Implementation Plan, the PM said the ultimate ‘test’ for Australians is having every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander boy or girl have the same opportunities as other Australian children.
