Big four Deloitte, EY, KPMG and PwC should return to auditing roots

The expansion of the big four into all manner of consulting, tax advice and even legal services means they have strayed too far from their original business of checking the financial books of their clients, according Richard Brooks, the author of Bean Counters and a veteran journalist at British satirical and current affairs magazine Private Eye.
