Small businesses say there is low awareness of a government plan to outlaw cash payments larger than $10,000 and lack of knowledge could result in mum-and-dad business owners accidentally becoming criminals.
Legislation was introduced to Parliament last week to restrict Australians' use of large cash payments and a senate committee has opened up submissions to hear from the community.
