Industry superannuation funds, including one that may make $30 million a year from accounts with almost no savings, have launched a below-the-radar fight to undermine a plan they say they support in principle to reduce fees and insurance premiums.
Revenue and Financial Services Minister Kelly O’Dwyer said the industry was mounting a "guerrilla campaign" to stop the government cutting $600 million in revenue a year by banning all exit fees and restricting charges on super accounts that have less than $6000.
