Confirmed by Board of Taxation chair Michael Andrew,  Tony Greco FIPA will serve his initial term on the Advisory Panel ending December 31st, 2016.

The panel itself draws together some of Australia’s leading taxation professionals, who voluntarily contribute and assist the Board of Taxation in the general performance of its charter, and in advising the Treasurer on improvements to the general integrity and functioning of the tax system.

Mr Greco stated he will use his position on the advisory panel to champion the cause of small businesses and tax practitioners.

"Because we are small business focused I'm going to be able to add what we see as required in that space," Mr Greco said.

"We are hoping to bring to the fore issues that are more relevant to small practitioners and their small business clients."

While focusing on issues affecting small business, Mr Greco said it is important to look at the big picture too.

"We will look at the policy settings from the macro point of view as well," he said.

"At the end of the day we want to help Australia drive growth. The tax policy settings are one of the strongest levers the government has to reinvigorate growth and productivity," Mr Greco concluded.
