The 2015-16 federal budget included a number of measures specifically targeted at businesses with a turnover of less than $2 million that are classed as small business entities.
Two of the measures that received the most attention were a cut in the company tax rate for small business entities from 30 per cent down to 28.5 per cent, and the ability to claim accelerated depreciation in the form of an immediate write-off for assets costing less than $20,000.
