Financial Services Minister Jane Hume has criticised the $2.9 trillion superannuation industry as being beset with "complacency and inertia", saying it had to be "dragged kicking and screaming by government" to implement reforms following the banking royal commission.
In a speech in Sydney on Tuesday, Senator Hume highlighted the "long-standing problems we all know are there" but which the industry has failed to address.
