
Ombudsman calls for action on late payments to small business
A growing trend of deferring and delaying invoice payments is squeezing smaller businesses and has become a significant factor in business default, according to the sector's ombudsman.
Now, independent journalist Michael West has revealed supermarkets may be adding to that pressure with new 'pay on scan' terms, under which suppliers to Coles and Woolworths will not receive payment until their goods have passed through the checkout.
