Community perceptions about the Australian Taxation Office took a hit over the past financial year, as the agency’s reputation suffered amid repeated IT outages and complaints about its treatment of small business taxpayers.
The ATO’s own surveys show that satisfaction with its services declined in the 2018 financial year, with 71 per cent of people surveyed saying they were satisfied with ATO services – down 4 points from the year prior.
