From 24 September 2020, the TPB will be introducing an additional security measure to further enhance online security.

Every time an agent enters 'My Profile' to access their account, they will be taken through a two-factor authentication (2FA) process.

“You would have used the 2FA process when you first set up your My Profile account with us,” the TPB explained.

“We are now extending this to occur every time you login to your account, thus providing an additional layer of security in line with industry standards.”

Tax practitioners will have an option of having a 2FA code sent to their nominated email address or mobile number.

“You will have 10 minutes to enter the 2FA code in My Profile to login to your account before it becomes invalid,” the TPB advised.

“It is important to ensure your contact details, including your email address and mobile number are up to date with us. Visit My Profile to check or update your detail.”
