Businesses without strong digital systems are destined to be paid more slowly in future, with the government's pledge to shorten payment times through online invoicing prompting warnings some may be left behind.
Last week Finance Minister Mathias Cormann and Minister for Employment, Small and Family Business Michaelia Cash reiterated a promised from last year's mid-year economic and fiscal outlook to pay businesses in five days if they use standard e-invoicing systems.
