The Australian Taxation Office has encouraged businesses to transition to its new Online services for business (OSB) portal ahead of the planned shutdown of its old portal later in the year.
OSB is set to replace both the Business Portal and the electronic superannuation audit tool (eSAT). The announcement on the ATO website follows a public beta testing of the OSB portal back in January.
ATO deputy commissioner for small business Kirsten Fish said the OSB portal will have all the functions that the Business Portal has, but in a more contemporary and easier-to-use way, and functions that the current Business Portal doesn’t have.
“Self-served payment arrangements will be available and businesses will be able to manage all of their entities through one log-in without needing to toggle between different platforms,” Ms Fish said.
“With a range of new features, this new service allows you to interact with us in a more contemporary way. Online services for business can be accessed on multiple devices, including smart devices like your phone or tablet.
“To start using Online services for business, log in with your myGovID as you did for the Business Portal.”
