The ever-present nature of technology has allowed small business owners an opportunity to obtain business advice 24/7 - posing a threat to traditional means.

Dale Beaumont, founder and CEO of smart-phone app BRiN, noted that a "lack of education" and a "lack of support" has proved to be the thorn in the side of many Australian small business owners, and are the key reasons which lead to failure.

"There are 500 million business owners on the planet but sadly 1 in 10, 50 million, fail every year," said Mr Beaumont.

According to Mr Beaumont, small businesses are now primed to take advantage of the technology they use every day, namely their mobile phones, in order to successfully grow and manage their businesses and obtain valuable advice.

"Given the scale of the problem we realised conventional business models based on one-to-one coaching, meet ups or live events weren't going to cut it."

Mr Beaumont noted that small businesses should be taking advantage of information across a range of topics, such as the name of their business, website construction, acquiring customers and hiring staff in order to manage finances.
