The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has decided to delay the retirement of eSAT for SMSF auditors following the successful role out of Online services for business.

"Since Online services for business went live, have received positive feedback about the functionality and usability, such as how it makes it easy to lodge a large amount of audit complete advices (ACAs) at once through the new bulk ACA template," the ATO said in a recent notice.

The ATO confirmed it will be contacting agents to participate in a co-design session, allowing the agents to share their thoughts on the improvements they deem necessary.

"We have also received feedback on some functions you would like to see improved, which is why we are holding co-design sessions with auditors in early June. These sessions will allow us to work with you to make improvements that will make your job easier," the ATO confirmed.

"While we undertake this work, the electronic superannuation audit tool (eSAT) will continue to be available."

The ATO advised those that find that eSAT is not compatible with newer operating systems, to make the switch to Online services for business, which has become the ATO's recommended option for auditors to lodge ACAs and auditor contravention reports (ACRs).

"We will continue to keep you informed of any updates to Online services for business, and the improvements we're making," it said.
