Xero partners with Microsoft to boost small business analysis

Small business owners will now have access to "enterprise-level" business intelligence thanks to a new Xero and Microsoft integration. Global accounting software provider Xero has announced the release of the Xero content pack integration with interactive visual data program Microsoft Power BI. According to Xero, the partnership will allow its customers the ability to analyse their own small business data, based on 25 pre-built tiles that surface insights.

“Business tools today are smarter and more connected than ever and finally available to the small business sector. We’re delighted to further integrate with Microsoft Power BI to give our users enterprise-ready tools to analyse information from Xero to make smart, informed decisions," said James Maiocco, Xero's general manager for global strategic partnerships.

Integrations with Power BI and Office 365 have extended Xero’s reach and usability and allow small businesses to extend their current Microsoft investments to easily view their Xero data alongside other critical business data, including Microsoft Dynamics CRM, MailChimp, Insightly, Google Analytics, Zendesk and Stripe.

"Microsoft Power BI enables customers to get the most out of their data by analysing live updates, giving them the ability to see what’s going on in their business and identify trends as they are evolving," said Microsoft's corporate vice-president of business applications, James Phillips.

"Together Xero and Microsoft will give small businesses the tools and insights to make real-time decisions that will help them grow their business.”
