The Institute of Public Accountants has expanded its international partnerships, signing a Mutual Recognition Agreement with the Philippines.
The IPA Group and the National Institute of Accounting Technicians of the Philippines (NIAT) signed the agreement to promote the interests of its respective members and the accounting profession globally.
“This agreement seeks to establish a bond between the two organisations through reciprocal recognition, membership and education pathways, which will provide opportunities for members in the region, and more broadly through the IPA Group globally,” IPA chief executive officer, Andrew Conway, said.
"The MoU demonstrates our commitment to the accounting technician segment of our global membership."
The National Institute of Accounting Technicians is the largest bookkeeping institute in the Philippines representing over 30,000 accounting professionals.
“We are delighted that the NIAT Philippines will be entering into this formalised relationship with the IPA Group. It is clear that the IPA Group and NIAT Philippines are well aligned to ensure that our members continue to grow and develop, with a pathway and further educational options” says Henry Ong, NIAT Chief Executive,
The agreement is part of IPA’s broader effort to increase the visibility and support for the accounting profession in Southeast Asia.
